Loro Piana’s centre of excellence

In Ghemme, Piedmont, Techbau has delivered a new centre of excellence for Loro Piana, bringing together the entire knitwear production process in a single location, from research and development through to the finished product. The complex includes the production facility, offices, a dedicated training area, a space for creations from the Loro Piana Knit Design Award, and the Accademia dei Mestieri. Techbau’s work covered a total area of more than 8,000 sqm, creating a complex comprising production areas, warehouses, offices and shared spaces, designed to enhance operational efficiency and provide high-quality working environments.

Developed in accordance with LEED Gold certification requirements, the project incorporates rainwater harvesting systems and advanced energy management technologies. Among its key features, a 435 kWp photovoltaic system contributes to on-site renewable energy generation. The new centre is Loro Piana’s first production facility designed to operate without the use of fossil fuels.
