Techbau S.p.A. and Retina Holding have completed the ignition of the biogas flare at the Velletri biomethane production plant, marking a significant technical milestone in the commissioning phase of the facility.
This step confirms the proper operation of the main process systems and represents a key transition from construction to start-up. The project follows a development approach fully aligned with ESG principles, with particular attention to plant performance, energy efficiency, decarbonisation and the responsible valorisation of organic resources within a circular-economy framework.
Once fully operational, the plant will reach a production capacity of approximately 500 Smc/h of biomethane, contributing to the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable gas and supporting the reduction of greenhouse-gas emissions in both the energy and mobility sectors.
The Velletri site is part of a broader program involving the development of 20 biomethane plants, aimed at concretely supporting the energy transition.
