Milan, 25 May 2026 – Techbau S.p.A., an Italian General Contractor with consolidated experience in the design and construction of mission-critical Data Centers, Official Partner of IDA – Italian Data Center Association and partner of the Polimi School of Management – Osservatorio Data Center, will be a Platinum Sponsor of Data Center Nation Milan 2026, taking place in Milan on 27 May 2026. The company’s participation in the event reflects its role in the development of the country’s digital infrastructure, with multiple Data Center projects developed according to standards up to Tier IV level and aligned with the highest environmental sustainability protocols, including LEED and BREEAM.
The growth of the Data Center sector in Italy, driven by the evolution of artificial intelligence, cloud computing and high-density computing, presents a challenge that extends beyond infrastructure capacity to include the development of the skills required to design and build increasingly complex, sustainable and high-performance infrastructure.
The Techbau Panel: Training and Skills for the Future of Data Centers
It is within this scenario that Techbau’s contribution to the 2026 edition of the event takes shape. During the day, the company will host the panel “Skills for Scalability: Training Today’s Professionals to Build Tomorrow’s Data Centers”, held in Hall 4 from 11:30 to 12:00, dedicated to the strategic role of skills in the development of digital infrastructure.
The discussion will focus on training as a key lever to support the growth of the Data Center sector in Italy, in a context where the rapid expansion of digital infrastructure is reshaping the skills landscape and requires increasingly close collaboration between institutions, academia and industry.
These topics will be discussed by Sen. Maria Alessandra Gallone, President of the Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research – ISPRA and Advisor to the Minister of University and Research; Andrea Campioli, architect and Dean of the AUIC School at Politecnico di Milano; Carlotta Matteja, President of the Education Technical Committee of IDA – Italian Data Center Association; and Andrea Marchiori, CEO of Techbau S.p.A. The debate, moderated by Dr Andrea Giambruno, journalist, will address the new training models needed to support the sector’s evolution and strengthen the link between universities and industry.
Andrea Marchiori, CEO of Techbau S.p.A.
“The development of Data Centers today requires increasingly cross-disciplinary skills, capable of integrating architectural design, technology infrastructure, energy strategy and engagement with the local context. For Techbau, this means not only delivering highly complex infrastructure, but also contributing to the growth of a professional ecosystem capable of supporting the sector’s evolution. The collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, now in the second edition of the Honours Programme, stems from this vision: training professionals capable of addressing the technical, environmental and urban-planning challenges posed by next-generation Data Centers. Data Center Nation represents an important opportunity to bring this topic into a broader dialogue between institutions, academia and industry.”
The Honours Programme, promoted by Techbau in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, stems from this vision and is structured as a training programme dedicated to Data Center design and the regeneration of disused or underutilized logistics assets. Held from October 2025 to January 2026, the programme involved 20 students selected from Master’s degree programmes and supported by Techbau scholarships, for a total of 200 hours of theoretical lessons and design workshops.
Techbau’s participation in Data Center Nation Milan 2026 reaffirms the company’s commitment to promoting skills and collaboration in support of the sustainable evolution of digital infrastructure in Italy.
