SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2025: ESG performance, responsible growth, and structured emissions monitoring

MILAN, Italy – December 19, 2025Techbau presents its 2025 Sustainability Report, the second prepared on a voluntary basis, confirming sustainability as a structural pillar of its development model and long-term value creation strategy. The Report has been prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and in line with the CSRD Directive, demonstrating the integration of environmental, social and governance factors into the Company’s strategies. In this context, Techbau’s adherence to the United Nations Global Compact and the communication of its performance through the Communication on Progress (CoP) further confirm a commitment recognized at an international level.

The year 2025 marked a phase of structured growth, with the workforce exceeding 240 employees (+33%) and an increasingly diversified project portfolio, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Techbau strengthened its role across the sustainable energy infrastructure value chain through the construction of biogas plants and the development of a structured portfolio of biomethane projects in Central and Southern Italy. This evolution has been recognized at a national level, leading to inclusion in the Top 100 ESG Integrated Finance and the Top 75 Innovation for Sustainability rankings, as well as the confirmation of Techbau’s leadership for the fifth consecutive year in the ranking of the 70 private construction companies compiled by Guamari.

During the 2025 reporting period, the greenhouse gas emissions measurement system was further strengthened in accordance with the GHG Protocol, applying the operational control approach and, for the second consecutive year, including the calculation of Scope 3 emissions. Total Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions amounted to 2,591 tCO₂eq under the location based approach and 1,731 tCO₂eq under the market based approach, highlighting a significant reduction in indirect emissions associated with electricity consumption. In particular, Scope 2 market based emissions recorded a reduction of approximately 76% compared to the reference year, thanks to the cancellation of 3,137 Guarantees of Origin (GOs), equivalent to 3,137,000 kWh of electricity from renewable sources, covering the majority of electricity demand from the national grid. Renewable electricity generation also made a significant contribution to reducing indirect emissions, both through self consumption and through the injection into the grid of electricity produced by photovoltaic systems.

Environmental sustainability represents a structural element of Techbau’s activities, with the adoption of international protocols such as LEED, BREEAM and ILFI Zero Carbon, and with over 90% of projects certified. In 2025, Techbau further intensified its commitment to urban regeneration, carrying out interventions on brownfield areas totaling 358,850 sqm, contributing to the enhancement of disused sites and the reduction of land consumption. For more than 14 years, Techbau has been a Gold Member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), confirming a long standing commitment to promoting buildings designed, constructed and managed according to high standards of sustainability and human well being.

On the governance front, the management system was further consolidated, complementing existing certifications ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 with ISO 27001 for information security, ISO 37001 for anti corruption and UNI/PdR 125 for gender equality.

Health and safety at work remain a priority area. The ISO 45001 certified management system covers 100% of the workforce, including 430,107 indirect workers and 248 employees of Techbau and Techbau Green Energy. During the 2025 reporting period, no fatalities and no cases of occupational disease were recorded, and no injuries occurred among direct employees. Throughout the year, the operational approach to prevention was strengthened, with a 171% increase in monitoring and data verification activities, a 168% increase in site coordination meetings and a 105% increase in induction training delivered. To support the dissemination of a strong safety culture, 404 Tool Box Talks were conducted, and there was a 238% increase in personnel rewarded for exemplary health and safety behaviors.

In 2025, Techbau’s commitment to local communities translated into concrete cultural, social and territorial initiatives. In Rome, as part of the new multifunctional building on Via del Crocifisso, Techbau conceived and promoted, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GNAM), the Connessioni Urbane call for proposals, aimed at young artists and focused on the cultural regeneration of a strategic urban space. The Company also supported sports and cultural initiatives, including Igor Volley Novara, Fondazione Teatro Carlo Coccia and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, alongside projects promoted by the Bambini delle Fate social association and actions to protect historical and artistic heritage, such as the restoration of Villa Picchetta.

The 2025 Sustainability Report was subject to a limited assurance engagement by Ernst & Young S.p.A., which carried out an independent verification of the compliance of the reported information with the adopted reference criteria and principles, further strengthening the reliability and transparency of the path undertaken.
